She sits in the dark
Alone and afraid
She doesn't think shes worth it
Doesn't think she matters

One day
An average day
The same as the others
She sits alone
Her thoughts like knives

When she hears a noise
She looks around startled
It sounds like foot steps
But she can't be sure

The girl stands up scared
She looks all around her
Nothing in sight

She begins to run
Running for her life

The foot steps get louder
She runs faster

They're getting closer
Closer
And Closer

She doesn't know what to do
She tries to hid but its an endless darkness
Theres no where to hide

She can't take it anymore
Tears running down her face
Arms wrapped around herself

Her body freezes as she hears the foot steps behind her stop
She closes her eyes
She doesn't want to see it coming
Shes to afraid to turn around
To afraid to see the monster behind her that's come to take her away
Away from this pain
The loneliness
The emptiness
To the nothingness

She whispers,
"I'm not worth it."

Suddenly she feels a hand on her shoulder
She opens her eyes
And turns around

There's a blinding light and a smiling face
A smile that chases away all the pain
The loneliness
The emptiness
The nothingness
The darkness

"You are worth it.
Worth every ounce of time and space in this world.
Don't let anyone or even yourself tell you different"

Said the voice so strong
so sure

The girl nodded her head
She was confident again
She'd give life one more chance
